Although infection increases the risk, cancer is not contagious. You cannot catch stomach cancer from another person who has it.
Most people who have known risk factors do not develop stomach cancer. For example, many people have H. pylori in their stomach but never develop cancer. On the other hand, people who do develop the disease sometimes have no known risk factors.
Oral Cancer including gum cancer, tounge cancer, lip cancer
Early Sign
Recurring stomatocace (ulcers on the cheeks, tongue, and lips)
Causes, incidence, and risk factors
Oral or mouth cancer most commonly involves the tissue of the lips or the tongue. It may also occur on the floor of the mouth, cheek lining, gingiva (gums), or palate (roof of the mouth). Most oral cancers look very similar under the microscope and are called squamous cell carcinomas. These are malignant and tend to spread rapidly.
Smoking and other tobacco use are associated with 70-80% of oral cancer cases. Smoke and heat from cigarettes, cigars, and pipes irritate the mucous membranes of the mouth. Use of chewing tobacco or snuff causes irritation from direct contact with the mucous membranes. Heavy alcohol use is another high-risk activity associated with oral cancer.
Other risks include poor dental and oral hygiene and chronic irritation (such as that from rough teeth, dentures, or fillings). Some oral cancers begin as leukoplakia or mouth ulcers. Oral cancer accounts for about 8% of all malignant growths. Men are affected twice as often as women, particularly men older than 40.
Gum cancer often happens in the bottom gum (front and back). In the early stage, the symptoms you can see are little ulcers, or white blisters.
If you notice any changes in the appearance of your mouth or any of the following symptoms, go to your dentist immediately because it might be a warning sign of cancer:
You can see colporrhagia after sex. (bleeding)
This means that the touch has caused bleeding. If you don't pay attention to this danger signal, the following problem is unroutinely bleeding, and the whites (leukorrhea) will increase. In the beginning it will be like water, later becoming milky white like the water after rinsing rice before cooking it.
Prostate Cancer
Prostate cancer often does not cause symptoms for many years. By the time symptoms occur, the disease may have spread beyond the prostate. When symptoms do occur, they may include:
- Frequent urination, especially at night
- Inability to urinate
- Trouble starting or holding back urination
- A weak or interrupted flow of urine
- Painful or burning urination
- Blood in the urine or semen
- Painful ejaculation
- Frequent pain in the lower back, hips, or upper thighs
These can be symptoms of cancer, but more often they are symptoms of noncancerous conditions. It is important to check with a doctor.

á-TOCOPHERYL SUCCINATE INDUCES APOPTOSIS IN PROSTATE CANCER CELLS IN PART THROUGH INHIBITION OF BCL-XL/BCL-2 FUNCTION

Running Title: á-Tocopheryl succinate is a Bcl-xL/Bcl-2 inhibitor
Although the antitumor effect of á-tocopheryl succinate (vitamin E succinate) has been well demonstrated, its underlying mechanism remains elusive. This study provides evidence that inhibition of Bcl-xL/Bcl-2 function represents a major pathway whereby á-tocopheryl succinate mediates apoptosis induction in prostate cancer cells. Note: apoptosis is the cells committing suicide
Vitamin E succinate suppresses prostate tumor growth by inducing apoptosis.

Prostate cancer is a major cause of cancer death and morbidity in western countries. However, because of its intrinsic nature of chemoresistance, there is only limited systemic therapy available for the patients. Vitamin E (VE) has been under intensive study as a chemopreventive agent for various types of cancers. Preclinical studies suggest that vitamin E succinate (VES) is the most effective antitumor analogue of VE, yet there are scarce studies of VES in prostate cancer. In this study, we investigated the effects of VES on a panel of prostate cancer cells, and a xenograft model of prostate cancer. Our results indicate that VES significantly inhibited proliferation and induced apoptosis of prostate cancer cell lines in a dose and time dependent manner. The results of microarray analysis followed by real-time RT-PCR and inhibitor analyses indicated that the VES-induced apoptosis is mediated by caspase-4 in prostate tumor cells. In our animal model of prostate cancer in SCID mouse, daily injection of VES significantly suppressed tumor growth as well as lung metastases. These results suggest a potential therapeutic utility of VES for patients with prostate cancer.

Can prostate cancer be prevented?
Klein EA.
Nat Clin Pract Urol. 2005 Jan;2(1):24-31.
Section of Urologic Oncology, Glickman Urological Institute.
The goal of primary chemoprevention is to decrease the incidence of a given cancer, simultaneously reducing both treatment-related adverse events and mortality. Prostate cancer is an attractive and appropriate target for primary prevention because of its incidence, prevalence, and disease-related mortality; its long latency and molecular pathogenesis; and epidemiologic data indicating that modifiable environmental factors may decrease risk. The Prostate Cancer Prevention Trial (PCPT) demonstrated that finasteride can prevent prostate cancer, albeit with an apparently increased risk of high-grade disease. A substantial amount of epidemiologic, molecular, and clinical evidence suggests that both selenium and vitamin E might also prevent prostate cancer, and this combination is being tested in the Selenium and Vitamin E Cancer Prevention Trial (SELECT). Ultimately, the adoption of a preventive strategy hinges on its potential benefits weighed against the potential risks of the specific agents used

Does oxygenated water support aerobic performance and lactate kinetics?
Int J Sports Med. 2006 Mar;27(3):232-5.

It has been asserted that the consumption of oxygenated water can support physical working capacity. As this has not been accurately investigated yet we analyzed effects of a two-week period of daily O (2)-water ingestion on spiroergometric parameters and lactate metabolism in healthy adults. Twenty men (24 +/- 2.5 years of age) with comparable aerobic abilities performed four exhaustive bicycle spiroergometric tests. Applying a double-blind crossover study design 10 subjects drank 1.5 liters of highly oxygenated water every day during the two weeks between the initial two tests whereas the other group consumed 1.5 liters untreated water from the same spring. After a two-week wash-out period subjects underwent a second period consuming the opposite type of water. Spiroergometric parameters and lactate kinetics between both groups at submaximal and maximal levels were analyzed using a MANOVA. Results showed no significant influence on aerobic parameters or lactate metabolism, neither at submaximal nor at maximal levels (all p-values >/= 0.050). Merely increments of V.EO (2) at submaximal levels were demonstrable (p = 0.048). We conclude that the consumption of oxygenated water does not enhance aerobic performance or lactate kinetics in standardized laboratory testing.
