We waned to learn more about treatments, etc.

In researching we found diabetes to be a potentially devastating disease if you let it. On the other hand, if you take an active part in fighting this, you will be much better off. You will enjoy life more. Do not be defeated.

The purpose of this section is to help you learn about 7 principles for good diabetes care.

It is Important to Control Diabetes

Taking good care of diabetes can lower your chances of getting:

  • Eye disease that can lead to a loss of vision or even blindness

  • Kidney Failure

  • Heart Disease

  • Nerve Damage that may cause a loss of feeling or pain in the hands, feet, legs, or other parts of your body.

  • Stroke

As you read these tips look for things that start with * to help you learn how to control the diabetes attacking you. We refrain from calling it "Your diabetes" as that means it is yours. Well, it is not yours. You do not own it, and you would not want to own it. As with any illness, or disease, it means that something is "Out of wack" and needs attention. If you take ownership of a disease or illness it becomes much harder to treat, control and/or get rid of.>

We encourage you to learn as much about this disease as possible. Take a Pro-Active stance. We care about you. Please do it today!
