The Goal of a Diabetic Diet

Diabetic Diet Basics

The goal of a diabetic sensitive diet is to control your blood sugar. If you are being attacked by diabetes, you certainly do not want your blood sugar bouncing all over the place.

Before starting any new diet check with your professional care giver and nutritionist, and do it under that persons supervision.

Controlling your blood sugar will help to control your insulin, and other health benefits.

How do you get an insulin and glucose overload? Though it may not always be from what you eat (check with your professional care giver to confirm the reason for to much insulin and/or glucose in your system). Lets look at what happens when you eat an empty carbohydrate ( plain white sugar, cookies, candy, cake, white bread, etc.)

When you eat an empty carbohydrate or a complex carbohydrate for that matter, your body breaks it down into sugar. That sugar gets transferred into your system. When your body senses sugar in your system, your pancreas produces insulin. All well and good.

Insulin is like a bus in that it takes the glucose in your blood and delivers it to the muscles where it is either burned immediately for energy, or stored for future use. When to store glucose, your muscles convert it to glycogen. When your muscles have enough glucose stored, they tell the insulin to go away. So the insulin is floating around your body, but it has not done its job, so it tires to force the muscles ot open up. They refuse and the pancreas makes more insulin thinking that it is an insulin problem. The muscles are forced open this time, but the cycle keeps on going. That is one cause of high glucose and insulin. The insulin can not do it’s job because the muscles are over saturated and have shut off taking on more glucose.

So the craving for sweets and sweet things can wreak havoc on your system. Now that you can see how empty carbohydrates can hurt you what do you use instead of sugar. Well, there are a lot of artificial sweeteners. Sweeteners like aspartame, saccharine, sucralose, and others. What if there was a product that had no carbohydrates, and was 100% natural, and did not cause a rise in your blood sugar. Would you be interested? Sounds like a God send doesn’t it. Would you use it?

You can cut down on sugar cravings

Doris H. of NY NY was so excited she wrote to tell us:

“ I was using approximately 5 lbs of sugar every week or so. I began using your Emperor’s Herbologist JAJA Stevioside™ (stevia extract) and have lost my craving for sugar! I hardly ever use it anymore thanks to your wonderful product. Not only have I virtually cut out sugar from my diet, but I have much more energy than before. It is helpful for low carbohydrate diets

Here is what Dr. Sonnenwirth has to say:

“Anyone who doubts the safety and efficacy of stevia/stevioside would or should be satisfied with ‘the preponderance of the evidence’… I have a diabetic in the family, and the stevioside [stevia extract] has helped with this person’s diabetes… I had tried at least 3 or 4 other brands of stevioside [stevia extract] and I think this (JAJA Stevioside™) is far and away the best. It is definitely a help for anyone with diabetes, either type 1 or 2, can be used to help in weight loss diets and especially the low carb diets many are on right now.”

A Great Aspartame Alternative

Ray Sahelian, M.D., with Donna Gates co-authors of The Stevia Cookbook — Avery/Penguin, 1999.

“Stevia [extract] is a wonderful alternative to sugar and artificial sweeteners for those who have diabetes.”

Unlike aspartame JAJA Stevioside is completely stable in heat, cold, acidic or alkaline solutions. Since we sell it as a dietary supplement, we can not tell you how to use it in everything from coffee, to ice tea, to lemonade, to baking and more. There are plenty of stevia and stevioside recipe books on the market for you to choose from.

JAJA Stevioside is Calorie Free, Fat Free, of utmost importance to diabetics, it is Carbohydrate Free. It does not raise the blood sugar levels of people using it.

You can shop around for stevioside but none compares with the taste and purity of JAJA Stevioside™. Unlike most other brands, we keep our JAJA Stevioside pure. Absolutely nothing is added!

Susan H – Washington wrote to tell us:

“ I am so excited to find ‘real’ stevioside [stevia extract]. My husband was very impressed as well. He said, ‘This stevioside so much better’

I am sending a sample to my mother who is diabetic. She just paid $7.50 for 1 cup of some new sweetener that everyone is raving about for diabetics. The problem is, you have to use the same amount as sugar; so a recipe for cookies that calls for 1 cup of sugar, now costs $7.50 just for the sugar substitute! I know she will like this better. Thanks for such a superior product.”

Martha Z. a Registered Nurse in California wrote to us:

I am an RN, researcher, educator and consultant and a leading advocate in whole food nutrition. I give seminars and participate in health fairs. The more I lectured about the destruction in the body from aspartame the more I tried to convince, especially diabetics to switch to stevioside [stevia extract]… I thank you so much for confirming for me your wonderful product.
